Is there a way to eliminate certain Categories when searching under the Category listings?

For example, when I Browse by Category, I see entries like "Agriculture" which I know I will never browse. Can I remove that caterogy from showing?

Also, is there a "Browse By Channel" only option in which I can simply browse given a single channel?

I wouldn't mind being able to eliminate some of those categories either. That list is just way too long.

Also I think there are some "Adult" categories that even thought kiddies can't watch, I rather not have that category there at all.

Agreed... categories need to be brushed up for more functionality. Simplification is neccessary - I think the amount of categories is awesome, there's something for everybody; the thing is, everybody isn't using my HTPC - just me and my family.

There should be an easy way to select and un-select categories much like you can select and un-select what channels are available.

I'd also love to set a flag (menu or icon) that would only show each different show once (but show different episodes), and then a second flag, (or an icon or menu) select, where the show name (not each episode) is only shown once. (This could be a single icon that would cycle through the 3 settings)

I'll use Stargate SG-1 as an example.
With the current system, there are 10 listings for each WEEK. 3 shows on the "monday airing", 5 shows on the "daily show", and 2 more on Friday as "new season" one at 8pm, and a second at 11pm)).

With the first setting, you would only loose 1 show of SG-1 (the second airing) each week, but things like the movie channels would drop 23 (I checked, and yes, 1 movie is shown 23 times in 2 weeks) listings.

With the second setting, you would loose 8 more listings for SG-1, but the movie listing wouldn't change at all.

Could this be done, or is it somewhere I can't find it? This would make just browseing SO much easier and quicker!!!! As it is, I'm not even using it. (Sci-Fi listing has 735 shows, but tons of them are the same thing!!!!)


Don't forget once you select the show, you can always select the view additional airings, if you want to see all of the shows with that name.

Anyone else think this would be a nice feature???
