Changing to live TV mode from DVD causes quit?
Hello,
I'm a recent purchaser of SageTV and am very impressed with it so far. I am using a WinTV PVR250, Radeon AIW 9800 and PowerDVD 5.0. I have noticed one problem when I'm done watching a DVD, go back to the main menu and then click "Live TV", the program simply quits. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks for a great product and keep up the good work! ->Dan |

I started playing a DVD and SageTV 1.4.10 quit when I selected LiveTV just like you said.

Just tried it and it worked fine for me. What decoders are you using for TV and for DVD?

Under the "Video" tab, it is set for "Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder" and under the "DVD" tab it is set for "Default" -- although the only option in the combo-box is "Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder".

All the video, audio, and dvd settings were set to default. I did some testing and found if I changed the DVD video and audio decoders to cyberlink, then I could watch liveTV. When set to use the default decoders for DVD it also quits out when trying to play a previously recorder TV show. Windows Media Player lists the cyberlink decoders when playing a mpeg-2 file, so they should be the default decoders.
Attached is one of the many error files, let me know if you want more. Gulganei, you might try changing the DVD settings to use cyberlink and see if that fixes the problem for you as well. Last edited by malore; 08-31-2003 at 07:09 PM. |

This is a bug. (darnit, first one found in 1.4)
Workaround: If you're using Default for your DVD Video Decoder, then when you're done watching a DVD, you should put SageTV to sleep before you select something else to watch.
