Dual-Tuner and IR Records same show on two channels
I have a dual-tuner Hauppauge card. We typically watch Good Morning America in the AM and have intelligent recording enabled. SageTV caught on to the fact that we watch that show, so it started automatically recording it. The problem is that it records it on a different channel than we watch it on because we get two ABC channels (one local, one in another state). If I then start watching it on our local channel, it keeps recording it on the other channel. I thought I could get around this by setting the show as a favorite only on the channel we watch, but Sage still automatically records it on the other channel sometimes and leaves us with 2 copies of the same show. So, now I have to watch the upcoming recordings and set the "don't like" flag on the shows that aren't on the right channel. Is there an easier way to deal with this issue?

If they hae SH-prefixed show IDs, there probably isn' a whole lot you can do about it in terms of IR. However, you could set it as a favorite & then limit that fav to a specific channel.

I've tried the trick of setting a favorite and restricting it to one channel, but it still picks up the show on both channels. I'm noticing it with other shows now, too. So, is the issue that show ID's don't match so it looks like two different shows to Sage?

Oh... um, if an airing doesn't qualify as a favorite, then it is probably eligible for IR duty. So, perhaps I made my above comment too quickly. I can't think of any more (wrong) things off the top of my head at the moment... other than perhaps check Detailed Setup -> Cusomtize to see if "Detect repeat airings with non-unique IDs" is set to "Yes"... not sure if it will help, though.
Hmmm. You could try setting up a 2nd fav for the other channel, limit it it to 1 show with lots of negative start & stop padding (so it will only record for a few minutes total) & set it to not auto-delete... and then just remember to never watch/delete that recording so it never records another one. I do that for Daily Show reruns, but I don't know if it will work in your situation. - Andy

OK, I checked, and when this happens the shows DO have the same Show ID. So, I'm kind of at a loss unless this is a bug in the scheduling feature.

One more thing. I don't know if this is relevant, but I have two separate disks that I record to. I'm going to keep an eye on when this happpens because it looks like the two recordings of the same show get saved to different disks.
