PixelView PlayTV MPEG-2 PV-M4900 Remote

Hey, I have this card and it works great, not quite the quality of my WinTV-PVR-250, but also only $30. It came with a remote, but I have yet to figure out how to get it working, anybody got a clue?

Not gonna work with SageTV. The reason it is only $30 is that it does not have a hardware MPEG2 encoder.

Sorry,
John

Huh, the card works fine with Sage, it does have an MPEG2 encoder, the question was about it's IR remote control.

Maybe someone else knows for sure, but until then... see if you can find out how it is used with the software it comes with. If it simply sends keystrokes, then you may be able to configure SageTV to respond to that key input. Similarly, if it sends Windows multimedia commands, SageTV can respond to those.

If it interacts directly with its own software, then you may need to see if there is something like a Girder plugin for its receiver. If there is, then you could use it via Girder to control SageTV.

That's about all I can think of.

If this is the product you are talking about:

http://www.prolink-usa.com/english/p...878p+fmrc.html

Then it is does not have a "HARDWARE" MPEG2 encoder...I am glad it works for you, but it is using software MPEG2 encoding.

I read the post a little too quickly.

EDIT: I wanted to clarify that this is a sofware based card so that someone does not come along and look and see a $30 card and say hey I can buy 2 or 3 of these and be able to record 3 shows for under $100 at once and then be surprised that it doesn't work or that their computer is unable to playback video while shows are recording.

Sorry,
John

John's correct. The only model they have with a hardware mpeg2 encoder is their PixelView PlayTV@P7200. But someone would have to see if it works in Sage.
