Control of resolution and file size

I have a PII 450 so I am always concerned about getting Sage to run as smooth as possible. Anyway, how is the resolution of the video files controlled, and for that matter, the resolution of the displayed video? Since I only have a regular 27" sony Tv, can I limit to resolution to 400'ish lines?

Should I be using 640x480 instead of 800x600 for the Windows display?
Thanks

I have a Sony 27" TV as well and I have my windows Desktop set to 720x480. This looks best as it is the NTSC standard res that
DVD and MPEG2 From PVR 250 is in.

That resolution is not an option on my system. If I have the resolution set at 800x600, does it record files with that resolution, and the same for 640x480 etc?

The display resolution is independant of the capture resolution.
The capture default 2 GB is always 720 x 480.

When the video is played back the video decompressor scales the
video to the resolution.
