Client/Server setup

I am looking into buying SageTV and SageTVClient.

I am not sure of what way to do this though.

I have 1 HTPC with a 150MCE capture card in it and the server with a 150MCE card.

Can SageTVClient control a tuner in the local box and the one on the server or will I be better off just having both tuners in the server? What licenses do I need to buy?

The client cannot control a tuner. If you want tuners on both systems, you would need 2 licenses for SageTV & then set up one to be a network encoder + client UI.

In most cases, you would be better off putting all tuners in the server, then get 1 SageTV + 1 SageTV Client license. That way, you only need the server to be running to record from both tuners. The client can do whatever it wants w/o affecting any recordings.
