Studio File Save Error (version 4)

I tried some basic editing of menus - re-ordering and renaming to be exact - and when I tried saving the file, I get an error saying something like 'Java....Access Denied'.

I am at a loss since I followed the instructions in the manual carefully. I first copied the Sage.properties file to another one to before editing Sage.properties. I also made sure the Read Only attribute was not checked. I also noticed that SageTV Studio appears to talk rev 3 language - looking for .stv files as opposed to properties file.

Am I missing something?

Make sure that Studio really has the non read-only STV file loaded.

What is the exact filename of the STV (.stv or .xml) file that you are trying to edit? You mention copying the properties file; Studio edits STV files. (Version 4.1 loads .stv or .xml files; saves only .xml files) What version are you using?

If you really have a non read-only STV loaded, then try exiting & restarting SageTV.

Maybe that is where the problem is..I have been copying and editing the Sage.properties file in the STV directory. Isn't that the file?

Studio loads .stv files, and now in v4.1 it loads .xml files.

If you are trying to edit something in Studio v4, you should be copying SageTV3.stv & clearing the read-only flag on that copy.

If you are using v4.1, then you would look into modifying SageTV3.xml. It is not read-only, but you should work on a copy of that file.

If you are trying to modify various properties settings, then Studio wouldn't be involved at all.
