Moving Internal Hard Drives from one PC to another

I currently use a compaq pc on a home network as the sagetv server...I also have sagetv access a F: hard drive my networked dell to store some more programs.

That F: drive in the Dell just has program content and does not have any programs installed.

Can I just take out the F: drive a just pop it into my Compaq? Of course, I'll have to redo the sage tv settings regarding where the video is to be stored, but not sure if there are other windows settings I'll have to change.

Thanks!

Dell: xp pro
compaq: xp
(I think ntfs formatting for all)

I think as long as the drive you take out in and put it back on F: you should be fine but you better make backup of the wiz file
