service mode = blank screen

Something very strange going on.

If I run sage in service mode then start sage for the UI I get a blank screen and 100% CPU use.

If I do not use sage in service mode everything works fine.

The only way to solve this is to roll back the wiz bin a few days and delete the recorded files.

No idea how to solve this any help would be apriciated

I have had this issue off and on, I am not sure what I do to cause it but a uninstall and reinstall of Sage fixes it. Alternatively, I was given a work around by Sage support that you may want to try.

change the following line in your sage.properties

ui/accelerated_rendering=true

change to
ui/accelerated_rendering=false

Ok something very strange going on.

I removed the property files and the wiz.bin files and started again.

Working fine.

Re-introduced the original property files and then the wiz.bin and everything is ok

So everythings ok but no idea why it should be

JamJam-

It has happened again, here is what appears to have caused it.

Tonight I was adding another pvr-150 card to my server. It was running in service mode, and the sage client would work fine when I used it (on ther server via vnc). I shutdown, installed the new card and started/stopped service mode. Then I started sage using the 'sage' icon, changed some video recording directories and stopped Sage. I re-enabled service mode and started it. Started the client on the server and no joy - black screen (tried several times to get it going). I stopped Sage, copied my sageclient.properties from my HTPC client and then the client worked fine on the server. It seems as though switching form service to normal mode causes this issue, but it has happened so sporadically to my server that I cannot say with any certainty that this is the cause. Can anyone else confirm or deny what I think I have seen?

It happened again when I upgraded. Stopped service mode installed the upgrade started the service and then sage, 100% cpu again.

Solved the same way,

remove wizbin and properties, reconfigure sage so its working, then re-install original files and everything is working

At least there is a solution that works for me - no idea whats causing it. THe first time it happen, I got home from work and the pc was at 100% cpu usage no idea what is causing this
