Did anyone catch this?

So I was reading about the new wireless MVP when this jumped out at me:

Quote:
Wireless MediaMVP is based on an IBM PowerPC, and runs on the Linux open-source operating system, enabling it to support numerous upgrades. Current A/V connection options include S-video, composite video and RGB, plus stereo audio output and S/PDIF audio out. The MediaMVP is compatible with any PC running Windows XP.
From eHomeUpgrade

So does this mean what I think it means? Will we be able to pass AC3 thru SPDIF to our receivers?

I do now. My motherboard has optical out, which is connected to the receiver. The only downside is that the volume on the PC doesn't work. You have to either use the receiver remote or get a learning remote to adjust the volume.

Nice find. The other one that jumps out is RGB. Not hd, but still a cut above svid and composite.

RGB is nice if you have one of the 4 TV's made with the input...

So does my motherboard. But none of the MVPs have SPDIF out. If they have it now then the MVP might support playing DVD rips because it could handle the AC3. That's the only thing missing on the MVP is playing rips for me.

I saw in another forum that it's possible to add an optical out port(toslink) on the current MVP so would it be possible to hook it up to my receiver and listen my tv trough my home cinema ?
