JVC DVHS firewire output?

Does anyone know if its possible to use the firewire output of a JVC DVHS deck to get a stream into SageTV? Not talking about a 5C stream or D-Theater playback, but using the JVC as a firewire passthru from another device that doesnt have DS filters.

I know JVC has tape drivers for XP, so I am hopeful there is a DS filter/capture filter for it, and that I could feed the signal into some network encoder somehow.

I have read a ton in that thread, as well as posted, I just didnt happen to see anything directly related to using the JVC deck as a firewire passthrough device to get around another device's lack of DS filters....
