CC problems & client disconnects
I'm using the latest SageTV on my server with the latest SageTVClient on the machine I watch TV on.
First thing I noticed was the option to turn closed captions on or off in the settings menu while viewing a show is not there. Second thing is the closed captions like to turn on whenever they wish, randomly. Requiring a reboot of SageTVClient to remove them. Also, very often I get the message that SageTVClient has lost it's connection to the Server. This one is the most annoying, as the Server is always perfectly fine when this happens. If I wait a little while the connection comes back and it begins to play the video again, although in the preview window, not fullscreen. Overall I have to say that maybe I should have kept my setup as just an all in one Computer with playback and recording on the same machine. I had a lot less problems before I split the duties up. Anyone else experiencing these issues or have any pointers? |

I've always run a server/client setup and have never experienced any problems. I run the service and it's on a 100mbit network using a wireless router but all of the computers are wired.

Well I think the fact that I have my recording hard drives in my client machine might have something to do with it. Even though it's on wired 100 mbit to the server, maybe the back and forth transfering is troublesome?

So I am the only one who no longer sees the option to disable or enable CC in the options menu while viewing a recording??
There's gotta be a reason for this. |

I've found at least one cause of a client disconnect.
I opened and RDP session on the server, since I use my sage server as my workstation too. And as soon as it launched the disconnect happened. Moments later it reconnected quickly. I can also say that other disconnects happen when there is network activity on all three of my machines, possibly. |
