How can I find out what SageTV just deleted?

So I wake up this morning and check the space on one of my 300GB drives (basically dedicated to SageTV) and its down to 4GB. There was only one show (that I knew of) left to record (half hour) so I figured it would be fine and I can worry about it later. Little did I know that it was set to record several hours worth of some show that I only watched for a few minutes and it thought I liked it. So I check it the next hour and it said 6GB free? It obviously had to delete something, but how do I know what it deleted? Is there a way to recover it?

I'm transferring some shows over to another pc now to free up some space. Yesterday I used ShowAnalyzer and VideoReDo to cut commercials out of some shows (turned 1 hour 2.8GB shows into 40-45 min <2GB shows) and I had almost 20GB free, but that didn't last long. I plan on converting them to Divx/Xvid (what's the best way to do this?) so I can save more space. Advice on compressing them is much appreciated since I need the space.
