Harmony Remote w/MVP and Sage license?

Just wondering if it would work with an MVP.

I run my MVP with a Harmony 520 remote. And I'm using the Sage license version of the MVP.

I believe my Harmony is a 659.
When you set up your Harmony on logitechs website, was there a SageTV or Hauppauge MVP selection that you used or did you manually program it?

I just got the Harmony 360 and am at work right now, but I logged into the Harmony website and added a new device. Pick PVR as your device type and Select SageTV from the pull down. I got stuck when it asked for a model number....the example almost looks like a software version. Looks like it may be fully supported. Could somebody who is actaully using the MVP with the Harmony comment on this?

Since i haven't actually had the SageTV client working yet I've been using the Hauppauge software instead. Under Media center PC there should be a puill down for Hauppauge. Choose MVP and you're off and running. That is if you can get a good connection to the server...

I put in the version of sage I was running and the remote worked like a charm. I have the Harmony 659.

Yeah, but with Matt's plugin not the sage official one. I doubt it matters though.

When I typed in 4.1 for the model, I got a dialog box that wants me to teach some commands from the Sagetv remote to the Harmony. Just to clarify, I want to replace the controller that comes with the MVP with my Harmony.

There appears to be many different ways of teaching the Harmony about the MVP, but without being able to test each way, I am just guessing.

If I remember correctly you have to put in three commands. I don't think it is teaching the remote the codes but using the codes to ID which remote you have. After that all the other buttons work just fine.

i am looking at the harmony remotes too. didn't realize they have a sagetv code. I did a demo setup and just used the Hauppauge MVP settings. Which is preferrable if using the sage MVP extender---MVP or sagetv?
Thanks
JUC

I think Sage would have more commands associated with it. Use the MVP remote to teach the 3 commands and it will recognize the device. I think I first used the MVP but the EXIT button and a couple others didn't work.

After trying numerous setups with a Harmony 628, I finally settled on using a Win-PVR-250 as the device set up for the MVP; it got me closest to what I wanted in terms of button functionality. After that I went into the advanced config and added a powertoggle when the "activity" of Watch SageTV was activated/deactivated. I also added a few things to the LCD menu, but have not successfully gotten pageup/pagedown to work in browsing recordings and the program guide. Whatever you do, DON'T select the Hauppauge MediaMVP settings on the Logitech website as many of the buttons on the Harmony will not be active when they should be.

I wrote an email to Logitech Customer support begging for a SageTV Media Extender device; hopefully they will respond and allow others to avoid this confusion in the future.

Use 2.28 as the model number, the commands haven't changed.
