Newbie needs some help w/ H-350 card and SageTV
Hi,
I originally downloaded the trial of Sage TV and found it to work extremely well with my Hauppauge PVR-350 card. I was searching around at the time and decided to test myHTPC software as well. To my surprise, the myHTPC's tv plugin just didn't work. When I tried loading Sage, it too stopped working. After clearing and reinstalling the drivers for the card, it still failed to display tv and would freeze at specific times. Specifically, the System Information button and the Guide icon on the top of the menus cause the program to freeze. Clicking on Live TV doesn't register the tv window, but doesn't freeze the program. I've switched the codecs in vain. I honestly have no clue what the problem could be. In WinTV2000, I get the video signal (weaker than in Sage TV, but I can only receive the audio on a few channels. If this sounds like a simple problem or if you can suggest any solutions, please do. Once I get this program up and running (using the demo now), I'm planning to buy it. Thanks for your help, Brad |

What input source are you using for the PVR-350, S-video, Composite or RF?

Thanks for your suggestion. It seems as if the new install finally worked, but only after I did the following: 1. I uninstalled the oringinal demo 2. I moved the installation to a new directory. It seemed that if I reinstalled overtop of the previous installation, the program would keep freezing --> corrupted configuration file that wasn't removed (??) The software works very well. Time to purchase :-) Many thanks for your help, Brad |
