Sage Shutting down after importing Music

Hi all, I have been having a problem where sage will shut down after about 10-20 seconds. This only happens after I import my music directory. Once it shuts down, if I edit the properties file and remove the music import directory--all will work fine again. A while ago i lost a HD will all of my music--about 50gb worth! Well, I have finally managed to get some of it back and just tried importing the music last night when i noticed this happening. Would a corrupt music file cause this? Then, how in the heck am I supposed to sort through all the files and see which one it is. EDIT: also, do you think trying the mediaplayer plugin might bypass this issue?

below is a some sort of log file i found in the sage directory (although I am not sure it is the real debug one). I am guessing this isn't the right debug file but maybe this will help until i can enable debugging tonight. Thanks
JUC

I have been having the same exact problem for quite a while. I thought it might be a corrupt music file so I moved the ones it appeared to hang on. It just hung on the files after that as well. I am doing WMA lossless. People will probably want to know if you are using network drives (I am not) UNC paths. Just make sure that whatever you are importing is listed as a media type in sage.properties.

delgross--i'm glad to see that i am not alone (however unfortunate that is for us). I am fairly certain they are all MP3's on a local drive on the server. That is why i think there should be no problem. I will check later. When you restart sage will it just keep shutting down like the problem I am having? I guess I will have to do a media search on my server and see what type of files they are but if they turn out to all be mp3's, i'm back to square one. Does it matter if it is variable bitrates for them? I don't know off the top of my head how they were ripped.
Thanks
JUC

edit: i guess i could start copying some artist folders a few at a time into a new directory and import from that and see if i can get any to import without sage crashing---but that is going to take quite a bit of time

You could try adding debug_logging=TRUE (exactly like that, including CAPS... but bold doesn't matter ) to your properties file, then restart SageTV. The resulting log file may have some info.

thanks, that is what I plan on doing tonight. Will the debug file actually show if sage is hanging on an certain file--and specify which one? That would be a big help in me troubleshooting the 20gb or so of music files.

update--problem fixed. It was 2 corrupt files in my import folder. Had a ton of fun sorting through like 20GB of music to find the ones that triggered sage to shut down but i did it and all is good now.
Thanks

Anyone know when this release is going out?

I just download and installed the latest Beta - 4.1.5 (I think), but I'm still having this issue.

I'm not looking forward to searching through my pictures/music files to find the corrupt ones.

Thanks!

this is what sage told me to do until the fix came out. I opted just to find the corrupt files instead but this may work--i think only for wma files though...

Try this. Open the Sage.jar file with WinZip and remove the file
sage/WMATagParser.class from it. Then if you do the import again it should
work correctly (but it won't import any metadata from WMA files either). If
this works, then this is a bug that is going to get fixed.

Thanks,
