Spanish and English out of my speaker...

Hello all,

I just picked up the latest Sage TV beta from the board yesterday. I must say that it's definately the best PVR product I've used so far. I've used a bunch, and just tried (ha!) using WinTV 2K to get my stuff. I would also like to see SageTV studio as well. Before I can buy it, though, I need a little bit of help. I've used XMLTv to get all of my cable listings. I had to remap all of the channels to get it to work right. Anyway, after I set up some recordings (slick interface, by the way!) I had it record a bunch of stuff. Most of the recordings came out excellent, but on TBS, which is cable channel 16 here, the recordings came out very strange. I had regular stereo in the left channel of my speakers. I have SAP in the right channel. SAP, I've found, can say all sorts of funny things, but mostly it's just Spanish. I don't really speak Spanish. Lots of bad English, but no Spanish. This doesn't happen with the WinTV 2K, and so far, I've only found it on channel 16, but channel 6 behaves a little wierd sometimes too. Last night, I was watching 'That 70's show', and I was getting directors call's in the right channel. SAP again, I suppose. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,
Matt.

I have a dual 250 system and came across this problem the other day while trying out different Hauppauge drivers. I had SAP audio on some channels while using the 1.7.2.1177 drivers on one of my cards. The other card was OK.

Going back to the 1.6 drivers that came with the card(s) fixed the problem for me.

Wanderer,

Thanks a lot, that's going to save me a lot of troubleshooting time. That is the exact driver version I have installed on the machine. I'll roll it back to the original driver.

Matt.

I had the same problem with driver version 1.17.390.21196 and a PVR 250. I stumbled on a solution that worked for me without rolling back the driver version.

See thread 1505 for details.

Sweet. Thanks for the reply. This is a much better solution than rolling back to the 1.6. BTW, moving back to 1.6 does fix this issue.

Thanks,
Matt.
