Having problem loosing my IR remote over time...

Hello,

I don't know if anyone has run into this problem or not. This happened around the time I upgraded to version 4.0, but it just may be a coincidence.

When the computer is started, the Hauppauge remote works fine...then as time goes by, I have to press the button mulitple times in order to get it to respond. Finally, it will not work at all. I then use the Hauppauge utility "Restart IR" and then it will work fine for a period of time, and then crap out again. At that point, if I try to "Restart IR", I get the dreaded "Failed to initialize remote hardware". Then I have to reboot to get my remote back.

Has anyone run into a problem like this before, or can anyone offer an suggestions?

best thing I could suggest would be to uninstall the hauppauge software and reinstall it and hopefully it will be all happy again...

I did try that without any luck, I even tried the newer IR software on Hauppauge's web site.
