Thumbs down Upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 (Major Problem)

Upgrading to 4.1 from 4.0 resulted in a big problem for me.

My SageTV server (Service mode) uses 70% of my CPU (vs 6% with 4.0) consistantly, and then after 15 to 20 minutes, the SageTVService doesn't crash, but stops responding and then my TV goes out (Can't commincate with the sagetv service).

I thankfully backed up my entire v4.0 dir before upgrading, so after going through a few cycles of this, and rebooting my machine, I downgraded to v4.0 again and the problems went away...

I'll report this as a bug as well...

After you upgraded did you redo your user and password for the Sage service or do you let it run in localservice login? Anytime I've upgrade you basically have to redo you Sage service configuration. I did not have your utilization issues and all works fine.

I don't think that has anything to do with it.

The sagetv control panel looked fine.

I do beleive I could be an isolated case, as no one else is complaining about this.

I could try to do a fresh v4.1.3 install, but I really hate doing that.,

Just make sure to copy youe wiz.bin and Sageclient and Sage .properties files. Reinstall is not a big deal. You may want to reinstall and just copy back you wiz.bin in case something in your properties file is hosing it. This just requires you to set Sage up again but it should fix your issue.

Getting the same thing

I just purchased Sage and while it was in the mail to me, 4.01 came out.
I did an install of 4.01 and am getting the same 70 percent CPU usage using the service mode option.

Did you upgrade or fresh-install?
