nVidia MCE video card drivers

Has anyone tried running the MCE version of the latest nVidia drivers for a non-MCE HTPC? Is there a component built into MS MCE that the driver looks for or needs?

I'm also curious about:
"Includes NVIDIA Media Center Display Extensions, letting you access NVIDIA display/video settings with your Media Center remote control"

I think the only difference is that the MCE drivers allow you to adjust some of the video card settings from within MCE. At least that's what I read somewhere.
