Sage and DVB

Hi all,

I'm looking to put together a new system in the new year. I want it to use the following cards:

Twinhan DVB-S CI
Terratec 2800i Dual DVB-T

Both have BDA drivers. Anders expects the DVB-T card to be usable with his BDA DVB Network Encoder, so hopefully that sorts that one. However, he does not yet support DVB-S and is unlikely to in the near future as he's concentrating on DVB-C.

Am I right in thinking I should be able to get this working using the Universal Network Encoder? I expect it to be hard work, but I do need to know it's possible before spending the money and time!

Look at the MyTheatre plugin. It should be able to support both of your cards. Or you can use my plugin for the DVB-T card but if you by a license for MyTheatre you can use it for both. More in this thread: http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...ight=mytheatre

As Anders suggested, I also think the Mytheatre plugin is the way to go. After that, go to the Mytheatre website, and look for a utility called xmltv2mtepg. It will allow you take the EPG data from your satellite source and export it to a format (XMLTV) that Sage can use.

Very cool setup, only knock against it is the channel changes take a bit, but its very much worth it.

Can anyone tell me if a setup such as this will work alongside my current setup of Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2.0 plugged into STB using USB-UIRT?

I want to add another tuner, but am out of PCI ports so need a USB one and DVB ones seem cheaper than another Hauppauge.

I already have a DVB xmltv feed for the other STB so that isn't a problem, but would the two different setups interfere with each other?

Also, which USB DVB boxes should I be looking out for?

Thanks

Andrew
