Upgrading SageTV's version of dscaler!? how?

still no joy yet for getting the pal phase alignment fix in any form near to what Sage could use.. maybe i can get some of it into a dscaler plugin.. that'd be better..

anyways Sage is using 3.1 of dscaler.. i want to upgrade it to latest alpha 4.1.. that includes tomsmocomp deinterlacer which is the best performing deinterlacer i know of, its superb.. its only beaten by the phase align fix on files that are progressive, for truly interlaced files nothing comes near to toms...

i assume i can't just add the plugins from that release to the correct folder and they'd work?! i'd assume they'd be the wrong version..

How is this possible!? thanks

well i copied the tomsmocomp plugin across.. it comes up in the gui.. looked like it may have been doing something, but it wasn't really very impressive... how do you alter the settings of these plugins?!?

Please could someone respond to this!?! I'd love to know how we can upgrade the version of dscaler, and how we can then pass parameters to these plugins...

Also how can SageTV work with directshow filters... there is possibilties that the deinterlacing stuff that works perfectly may be made into a directshow filter.. so if we could alter the filtergraph used by Sage we'd be able to have a toggling of this mode for when the material warrants it... this would leave PAL users of SageTV able to watch 95% of the PVR material perfectly (sport, news, weather excluded and quite frankly for me i'm not interested.. my fave shows will all come out perfect)

SageTV uses the DirectShow filter from DScaler. It's called Deinterlace.ax. I'm using version 1.20 currently. You've already figured out how to change out the plugins. Sage doesn't offer any options for configuring each plugin from within Sage, but they probably have registry settings to allow you to do that.

ok thanks...

If and when this progressive deinterlacer/phase shift aligner gets into a directshow filter .ax would we be able to get it easily integrated into Sage if possible.. or i guess a dscaler plugin would be better.. just plugin and select if needed.. its just this plugin for other non-sage owners would probably be better off in a directshow filter...
