show description info after divx conversion, Can it work?
I want to convert shows to divx and still see show info in sage... I would imagine this is the purpose of an xml export, but does it work? and with what plug in or stv??
I now have cayars stv and it is doin g the xml, but how can I get it to show in sage after converting to divx? Thanks in advance! I want to convert shows to divx and still see show info in sage... I would imagine this is the purpose of an xml export, but does it work? and with what plug in or stv?? I now have cayars stv and it is doin g the xml, but how can I get it to show in sage after converting to divx? Thanks in advance! Hi, I converted alot of my shows to divx to save on space. I have the cayars xml's with the show info, but how can I get sage to show the info in sage? What plug in or stv will read the show info in sage and tie it to the divx? I presently have my dixv shows in video import folders... does it matter where they are? Thanks! Hi, I am seeing mention of xml export and importing in different plug ins or stv's, but I cna not tell from the forums if it works for what I want, and which stv can do what I am looking for. Does anyone have this set up working and how can I do it? I have converetd shows to divx and saved the xml info from cayars. Will cayars for 2.8 or meekal or any other stv for 4 read the xml with the the divx? I presently have my divx's in media import folders such as import folder/Stargate/season one .. /season two etc... I can play the files fine, but I can not get sage to read or associate the xml with the divx file. Can anything out there read the xml's and do thos for me? Thanks! ( I asked this under meekal stv and malores as well as here since I asked this a week ago and no one answered... hoping to catch someones attention who is in the know) [All merged here now] |

There has been some Studio stuff written to read XML data for imported videos, I just haven't implemented it yet.
BUT, I think there's actually a How-To somewhere that tells you how to do something similar called in-place recompression. Here it is: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...+recompression Let me know if that works for you. |

Currently greggerm's STV for V4 can create and read .my files. These files are pretty much the same as XML files (Which I think this STV can read as well).
I convert my recordings to XVID using AutoGK (IMHO a better quality) and the my file that's created by Greggerm's STV reads fine with them. This STV also has external player support but not much else. This was done to keep it lean and mean.

Actually, AFIAK, if you retain the number at the end of the file, Sage will pick up the new file and retain the info. There's better info somewhere around here

Is that in Sage 4? or also in sage 2.8? I presently have 2.8, and that doesnt seem to work, at least for my import directories. |
