Mame?

Does ST support MAME at all for a front end?

It's a game emulator.

MythTV supports it and someone made a module for Showshifter.

MAME 0.72 has been released, and it supports 4083 ROM sets, 2319 unique games.

You might look into using myHTPC to control both MAME and sageTV. I haven't tried this, but there are lots of posts on the myHTPC forum about MAME.
