Guesss I won't need a GML file for 4.0 ... I used the "Sagetv2.0.19gml" and it worked great getting my remote buttons programmed ...

But, I would like to know if it can be programed to go to a submenu created with Dynamic Menus when I press a remote button ... ??

Example; from the Main Menu I created a submenu called "News, Weather & Traffic". Can I have a button programmed to take you there or am I only limited to basic default Sage Screens with a SendMessage code already in the 2.0.19 plugin??

Thanks, T.

The gml still works becuase the same message commands are used in v4; that has not changed.

The answer for which menus you can jump to is still pretty much the same as the one here. If you can have Girder send multiple messages, then you can batch a set of commands similar to what you can do with my SendMessage utility. Someone more familiar with Girder will have to answer that, though.

So far I have tried the iMON Remote with it's software and Sage Plug-in, Remote Wonder II with ATI's Software and Sage Plug-in and now the Firefly with Girder and Sage Plug-in ... OK, so I think I am starting to get this ...

I went to the Sage Manual (P. 189-198 and 242-243), and based upon that and what you have said, it appears my ability to program some or all remote buttons is based upon the software I use and the plug-ins available.

In addition, I am limited to programming remote buttons only with the Sage commands (or menus) provided that have "event" numbers from the List of all SageTV Commands in the manual.

With Dynamic Menus ... It sure would be great if in the future an event number could be generated and assigned to a menu in Sage when a sub menu is created and we had the ability to view the event numbers in the Detailed Setup.

For now, I guess I will just have to navigate the menu tree using the arrow keys.

Thanks for the help Opus ... T.

Oh ... and I am going to try and figure out how to use Girder batch commands and create a macro to assign to the Stop button that will run the Stop command and the Home command to get around being placed in the Guide when I press the Stop button.

I think andy got it, the GML should still work because nothing's changed on that front

As for the bach commands. In girder, Add a multigroup. Then in that multigroup, copy (could move, but I'd copy) the commands you want excecuted into it (multigroups are like folders), then click the multigroup, and Learn Command, and learn it to a button on your remote. It should work.

Thanks Stanget89 ... Yep, I got Girder 3.31c working fine ... have imported the Sage Plug-in and assigned commands to my Firefly ...
