Last night i installed version 4 and although basic i love the look and feel. when i am watching live tv i always get a black bar along the right side of the screen. i have adjusted the blinking lights to move the screen around. i have even gone to the detailed setup and modified the horizontal position. when i do that the black bar will appear on the left side. I am connected through DVI on a Sony 46 RPTV KP-46WT500
Any thoughts? Windows XP SP2, Sempron64 3300+, PVR 150, EVGA 6600gt, 1GB |

You need to adjust the Aspect Ratio zoom settings in detailed setup. Video and OSD adjustements are independent.

Did you only change the Aspect Ratio Mode, or did you also change the Aspect Ratio Settings?
If SageTV is not running, is the Windows desktop displayed on the TV? If so, does it go all the way to the edge? - Andy

i have tried to adjust both. My windows desktop is displayed on my TV with a slight overscan on the left side. only 1/2 of the Start button is visible and the whole screen is being used. Is there any way to move the screen around like we do on a monitor?

i forgot to mention that i had previously installed another PVR software before SAGE and didnt have this problem. Could they be conflicting even though i have uninstalled it?

Can you post a pic of what Sage looks like and what your desktop looks like?

Guys thanks for all the help. I fixed it last night and now i can start to tweak. I originally set up my HTPC with a flatscreen at work. Plugging it into my Sony RPTV didnt adjust the resolution when it discovered my monitor. i was never really able to adjust overscan with NVIDIA. This could possible be the reason that changing the ratios in sage would never give me a full screen no matter what the % was.
I uninstalled SAGE and all NVIDIA apps and drivers and rebooted which gave me the VGA adapter settings. Still connected to my Sony I reinstalled NVIDIA current drivers and was able to adjust underscan and overscan to get the proper resolution. I then reinstalled SAGE 4 and set Aspect to 16x9 at 110%. Problem solved. My image now covers the whole screen. I have a few more questions but will search the forums first. |
