OT: Need a DVD burner.

Well I need a new DVD drive to go in my new P180 since my current one doesn't match

OK, so I'm not that shallow (almost though) I need a new one anyway so I'm getting one to match, I'm down to one of two:
Pioneer 110
or
BenQ DW1625

Basically I've got a Pioneer A06/106 that I like, works great, would be happy to get another Pioneer (especially for that price) but the Lightscribe thing is inticing.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the BenQ and/or Lightscribe.

I still haven't forgiven BenQ for the DVD writer I bought from them. On the box it stated that it would be firmware upgradeable to DL. Well, they did come out with a DL firmware upgrade, but unfortunately in order to get it to fit in the ROM they had to remove several of the compatible modes, so you lost the ability to use some of the discs. I don't recall the exact details offhand, but something like you lost DVD+R compatability if you flashed it with the DL ROM. It sits gathering dust on my shelf as we speak.

At the time I needed a new writer and it was on sale and promised DL upgrageability. <sigh>

I have the HP Lightscribe burner that came with my MCE machine. I do like the lightscribe feature but find myself not using it much. 2 reasons for this is it is very slow to scribe a disc and the choice of branded media that is Lightscribe compatible is small. I still have my Casio cw50 ribbon printer and I still use that more often.
I will wait a little while to test the Lightscribe media (verbatim) I burnt when I first got it before I trust it to hold important data.
