Supported TV Tuners with Software Encoding

I found this on the SageTV Web Site ...

Supported TV Tuners with Software Encoding (V4 or later with SageTV only):

  • Plextor AV100U
  • Plextor TV100U
  • Most other
WDM capture devices should work with Version 4 but have not yet been tested. The above list will be updated as other cards are tested. If you have tested a specific card that is not listed, please report your findings to us at support@sagetv.com.

My ATI AIW x800 is a WDM Capture card. The Device Manager reflects that I have all the ATI drivers installed (ie. ATI WDM TV Tuner, etc.)

However when I go in to the Video Source Wizard to "Add New Source" I only see the Hauppauge WinTV USB2 PVR I am using to set this server up.

Is there something special I need to know about setting up Software encoded tuners??

If not, has anyone tested ATI AIW Tuners with Sage 4 yet?? Shoud it work?

Thanks, T.

Check the ignore encoders line in your properties, file, the AIW was probably added to that when Sage didn't support Soft-Encoders.

Awesome! That was it Stanger89 ...

I removed ... ATI Rage Theater Video Capture and it showed up in video sources and let me configure it. Checked the Recording Schedule and it was there too.

Thanks VERY much ... might as well take advantage of every tuner I can!!

T.

Got an AIW 9800 Pro but I was waiting for someone to chime in and say that it works and the quality is up to par with the Hauppauge tuners...

Anyone like to chime in on this?

I am hoping the NVIDIA Decoders make a difference ... I'll see when I get a few recordings to compare ...
