xcard vip header
is it normal for 2 of the 26 pins to be cut off or missing on the VIP header?
I have 2 rows of 13, but on the first row, the first 2 pins looked to be snipped off. will VIP still work or is this how sigma disabled VIP?

Look HERE for the pin-outs in regards to your VIP header on the XCard. The pic is about 2/3 down the page. If you're looking at the VIP header with the card's output connectors on the left, are the snipped pins on the left or right side? I have read about people re-soldering pins back onto the header and it working afterward just fine.
According to how you described it, it sounds like the GROUND 02 and Ground 04 pins are cut off. SHS has this on his site: Pin 01 will be on bottom left Top of the card 02-04-06-08-10-12-14-16-18-20-22-24-26 01-03-05-07-09-11-13-15-17-19-21-23-25 Bottom of the card Any Video card that miss one pin that will be pin 25 it not use so other end will be Pin 1 PIN assigement Input or Output for 26-pin feature connector aka VIP, DVI, VCF, etc, etc. Pin 1 Pixel Data Bit 0 (PB) Pin 2 Pixel Data Bit 1 (PG) Pin 3 DAC Pixel Data Bit 2 (PR) Pin 4 DAC Pixel Data Bit 3 (PI) Pin 5 DAC Pixel Data Bit 4 (SB) Pin 6 DAC Pixel Data Bit 5 (SG) Pin 7 DAC Pixel Data Bit 6 (SR) Pin 8 DAC Pixel Data Bit 7 (SI) Pin 9 DAC Clock Pin 10 DAC Blanking Pin 11 Horizontal Sync Pin 12 Vertical Sync Pin 13 Ground Pin 14 Ground Pin 15 Ground Pin 16 Ground Pin 17 Select Internal Video Pin 18 Select Internal Sync Pin 19 Select Internal Dot Clock Pin 20 Not used Pin 21 Ground Pin 22 Ground Pin 23 Ground Pin 24 Ground Pin 25 Not used Pin 26 Not used

aoehlke sound like go older board that they cut the pin off manual unlike some of new Xcard which did have any pin solder on the board at all where the VIP is fully disable and has all new layout so even sold on the PIN well not help so you should be good sharp you just need have PIN re-solder back on.
Top of card Left to Rigth 1 > 25 2 > 26 PCI slot Buttom of card If your miss PIN 1 and 2 thoses are the pin you must have in order for the VIP to work. |
