V4 Slow Screen Refresh

I have been using v 2.1 for a long while, decided to upgrade - dumb. Sage worked perfectly in v2.1 for me, now with v4.0 the screens refresh painfully slow - and sometimes not at all. When waking from sleep there is a noticble pause where screen stays black for about 2 secs before (blue) menu appears. Smaller delay occurs when going through Sage menues. And if I wake Sage from sleep/standby while system is doing other processing the black screen never switches to menu (no prob under v2.1 and I have to ctrl-alt-del / end task to exit Sage.
When toggling full screen /window view there is also noticible delay and often the Sage doesnt rescale the video to smaller size so you can only see a portion of the video in the window. Very frustrating.
I feel like maybe v4.0 is a resource hog b/c its general sluggishness seems like a resource issue.

I have P4 3.0Ghz, Happ 250, 1Gig of Ram

Did you update anything else at the same time -- java installation, video card drivers, DirectX, etc? Are you using 3D Acceleration in SageTV? If so, make sure it is on the primary monitor and see if there are updates for your video card drivers.

You could try reconfiguring SageTV -- copy your properties files to another location, then delete the originals + their autobackups, then start SageTV to reconfigure. Perhaps try a complete reinstallation -- be sure not ot re-use the same properties files if you do this.

I've been using sage since 1.4 and the higher the versions get the more sage becomes unresponsive and slow!! It is really starting to piss me off!
