PVR-500 initial Sage 4.0 setup question

When setting up the audio/video in the detailed settings, which decoder filter should I use/see? I have SageTV and Default.. I figured there would be some type of "haugppauge" option to utilize the cards decorder.. is something wrong, or am I missing something.. or both.. or neither?

Thanks!

The card 'only' does MPEG encoding not decoding.

Sage comes with it's own MPEG decoder. So you basicly don't need any other . You can also go to the Hauppauge Website and download their MPEG decoder and give it a try. Many people also like the Nvidia PureVideo Decoder. You can get a trial at the Nvidia website.

There are long thread about the difference in picture quality between the different decoders. I think at all boils down to personal preference and taste.

BTW I am using the Nvidia decoder

PS: If you don't have any other MPEG/DVD Player installed (PowerDVD etc.) the default decoder and SageTV are the same.
