TV Recordings look like 24fps movies.
Whenever my friends watch anything I've recorded with my Hauppauge PVR250.. they say, "it doesn't really look like TV. It looks more like a movie." Even if it's something like a sporting event which, when viewed on a regular NTSC television, clearly looks like video.
I'm assuming that this is there way of unknowingly saying... "looks like 24fps.. or less.. as opposed to the 29.97 I normally see". And I agree with them. While it looks -good-.. and while the look isn't completely undesirable in a lot of situations.. it's definitely not as smooth as when watching regular TV. Anyone have any ideas? Oh.. I'm recording with the Standard DVD settings in SageTV. Thanks. David Last edited by DreamWeb; 11-17-2005 at 08:15 PM. |

A PVR 350 or Xcard that doesn't deinterlace. FWIW, most "TV" is actually "Film" (24fps).

Yes... but not the sporting events I watch (hockey).
So.. basically I need a PVR350. |

Or you could try Theater Mode or Video Overlay, but you'll loose the OSD on the TV that way.
FWIW, I'd go Xcard over 350. |
