Why do I still see channels in the guide?

I deselected a large number of channels that I dont watch or wont get in the config of my two tuner cards. The channels no longer have the green dot and I verified they stay that way after updating the card configuration. Why do they still show up in my Program guide though? I thought the whole purpose of deselecting is so that you DONT see them anymore and dont have to wade through a bunch of channels and PPV that you dont use. Thoughts?

Do your tuners use two differnt lineups & if so, did you turn the channels off in both lineups?
