Question: will non dvd settings will cause audio problems?

I have been reading about the process of making DVD's from sagetv recordings. And I realized that some of the shows I am recording in fair settings...but not DVD quality. There are shows (like hogans heroes, sanford and son, etc) that dont have commercials in them on my Voom HD channel. And I tried recording at a low settings, and I was happy with the video quality, and the size was about .5 GB for the 25 minute show.

I want to archive my shows to DVD. But now I am wondering, generally, if I will have audio delay problems (when using VideoRedo, Pinnacle or whatever authoring software) because I didnt record in one of the DVD quality formats?
