Help an idiot

Hey guys, I'm currently running the latest sage beta release and would like to add a second tuner. I currently have a PVR250 in the box and am thinking about a second. The 500 is out of the question at the moment since I don't really want to have to buy yet another remote (as well as a UIRT).

So, I guess the question is, how would this work? I currently have a single digital box running into the existing 250, the second would be for analog cable only (I'm a cheap bastage, don't wanna pay for a second digi-box either ). How would the remote(s) for this work? would I have to use both remotes to change channels (currently my digital box is changed by the 250's remote via my My.Tv ir blaster)....

Help an idiot!

If you are using the second tuner for analog only, there would be nothing for the remote to turn over. Unless you are based somewhere where the cable system is very different to mine (NJ USA).

You would simply plug the cable direct into the 250 (or the 500 or the 150) and let it tune all the available channels when setting the extra tuner in Sage.

You use your remote to control SageTV, so you only need 1 remote regardless of the number of tuners in use. BUT, there is an issue where adding a Hauppauge MCE-version tuner (no remote) along with a non-MCE tuner (has a remote) sometimes interferes with the Hauppuge remote software, making it not recognize the remote receiver on the correct tuner... thus losing the use of your remote. If you run into this problem, someone posted a way to get around it, but I think it is still a mess to deal with.
