Lost USB-UIRT
I am using SageTv 4.0 and have noticed that when I setup a new cable source the only option I have for Tuner Plugins is DirectTv.
Anyone know how I can get USB-UIRT back? Thanks, Matt |

(Just guesses...)
The USB-UIRT driver is installed, right? When you installed v4, did you install SageTV in the same place as the previous version? Below the install directory, is there a "SageTV" dir where your sagetv.exe files is located, plus a directory called "Common" that has a "RemoteCodes" subdirectory & then "USB-UIRT Transceiver" under that one? If those remote dirs are not located in the install location where you are running SageTV, try uninstalling & reinstalling. - Andy

They are there... What does SageTV look for to show available tuners? Currently, it is only showing DirecTV... Is there a registry key or ini file?

I don't know how that gets configured -- if sagetv.exe is atually running from the directory you think it is (check the path for however you start it), then you should probably contact tech support.

Well, I appreciate the effort and advice... I ended up doing what Microsoft reccomends -- I re-installed the Software...
The only issue with that is I lost all of the recordings and such... Oh, I can't wait until the days that the wiz.bin is broken out more into parts so that the recordings can be kept off by themselves. This way when I do a re-install the recordings are preserved... Matt |

All you have to do for the recordings is keep your previous wiz.bin & place it in the SageTV dir again after reinstalling.

This is kind of redundant now I suppose, but I had exactly the same issue. So I reinstalled, and Sage installed into the new Program Files\SageTV structure, so I could then copy over my old .ir file into the RemoteCodes folder in the new install, and it all worked fine. Was a tad frustrating to begin with though
Is this something we should report as a bug in the upgrade process? |
