SageClient, HDTV card, & playback of HD shows

I was very excited to get my V4 working with my Fusion 3 Gold.

But...I have a client/server setup, and my Fusion is in the server. When I try and playback on the client, I get a BDM/no card there issue.

1) I have a copy of SageRecorder that I don't use anymore. Could I install that on the main HTPC client, move the Fusion to that, and alleviate my problem?

2) Is there any way other around having a HD card in each of my clients? Is this b/c I've opted for a s/w card [fusion]. Would using a hardware card [A180] alleviate this issue?

Couple of things.

First, no HDTV card is a hardware encoder. All HDTV streams are already encoded in mpeg2 so all hdtv cards do is tune into a channel and dump the stream onto the hard drive.

Secondly, I have a client/server setup with the HDTV card in my server with no problems what so ever. You have setup the hdtv card on the server right? Then all you have to do is point sage client to where the server is and you should be able to see all the recordings ect.

What video and audio decoders are you using on the client?

hmmm. the issue is definitely the video decoder as that's the error thrown.

i just tried most of all the decoders i have installed on this client; Cyberlink, Nvidia, SageTV MPEG, and each time i got the following:

DShowHelper: CreateKsFilter() FAILED (following filters not found)
FusionHDTV, NTSC/ATSC WDM Tv Tuner
Bluebird, WDM TvTuner

ok, fixed it, that was odd. I used to have the Fusion on this box; the s/w must have been holding onto the file association or some such thing. I had to hard-exit Sage, then uninstall, now it works fine.

Thx for the help.
