crashes with multiple HD cards and simul recording
Hi all,
I just got my Sage server up and running with 3 HD cards (1 each: Fusion 5 Lite, Aver A180, DTA151). I haven't had a ton of time to test it out yet, but I did do a little preliminary work trying to record 3 HD streams simultaneously. It did start recording the three streams, but then crashes when the recording was due to finish. Relatively hard crash, as well, full lock-up requiring manual reboot and then the "Windows has recovered from a serious error" message. I know that there are others with at least 3 ATSC cards going. I'm just wondering if anyone has any problems with simultaneous recording. I was thinking that for the ocassions when I have 3 simul recordings, I could stagger the start/stop times with slightly differential padding, so that Sage isn't trying to work across the three cards at precisely the same time. I don't feel like I should have to do this, but would be happy to if it works. Anyway, I hope to hear from people who have 3+ cards going with their experiences. cheers, Dave |

I'll ask it just because you didn't say specifically - does 2 streams end okay? Does 1 end ok?
Just trouble shooting... |

Honestly, I've not yet had time to test things rigorously (just threw third card in early this AM). I figured I'd just go for broke and see if it could do 3 streams.
Definitely has no problem with 1 stream. I'll have to explore 2 and 3 streams simultaneously, either with exactly same start/stop times or staggered to see if I can sort out the problem a bit. Seems like there are at least a few people here with 3+ HD cards. If you guys are having no issues, I'd be interested to hear this. Thanks and I'll report back with more data when I have a chance later. cheers, Dave |
