Archive shows to DVD media?
I want to archive some of my SageTV recorded shows onto DVD media and have them show up as Archived shows in Sage with all the supporting on-screen show information. I understand how to archive a show using the menus to regular hard disk storage. Is it possible to do the same thing to a DVD drive using something like InCD from Nero -- or to burn the files outside of Sage but have them properly recognized when they are inserted into the drive as “archived”.
Please note that I do not want to create a formal DVD with all the time it takes to create the formal menu structure. I just want to use the space on a DVD +R or –R disk for removable bulk storage. If there is a FAQ or other posts that review how to do this it would be helpful if someone could point me in the correct direction. I tried a couple of searches but did not come up with much. MJS |

To the best of my knowledge-No.
Sage scans the media when it starts for recorded shows. Unlike imported videos, there is no way (to my knowledge) to initiate a scan of the DVD drive. You would need to have a DVD drive in your machine loaded with every show you ever burnt onto DVD and each of those drives set as a record drive. The closest you could get was to rip the DVD to a HD on your machine and view the recording as an imported file, but then you lose the detailed info. |
