Using a USB-UIRT to wakeup Sage from S3 STR

Hi. I know the USB-UIRT can be programmed with up to 4 special IR codes that can cause it to wake the a system from S3 STR Standby if the BIOS has that option enabled. Do I have to use the special USB-UIRT utility to do this, or will Sage automatically program the USB-UIRT appropriately if I teach it a PowerON IR command?

This behavior isn't documented in the manual and I can't seem to find a straight answer on this.
