Videoout feed to TV

I have SageTV running now perfectly using my Sapphire ATI Theatrix 550 capture card.
The videocard on the machine is an ATI Radeon 9700, and I have my PC monitor attached to the DVI port. All works fine on the TV screen.

I have connected the TV-out composite video) port to my TV and I have a fine picture of the Windows desktop on the TV as well (except that its in B/W which is a separate issue).
However the streaming video in SageTV is not seen on the TV. I only see a black box where the video is shown. The SageTV menues are also visible.

How can I solve this?
