Upgraded to Sage v4 and my AVIs have no video

It's pretty bizarre. . . I'm running v4 with SageMC and I can hear the audio in the avi files just fine, but there is no picture.

To make things more bizarre. . . DVDs have video, but no audio. . .

Any ideas?

I had something similar happen after upgrading. My AVI's though were taking up just a sliver on the left side of my screen. I did a reboot, and it seemed to clear it up.

Perhaps the video is there, you just can't see it.

I had the same problem. I had re-install my codecs all over again. I also wanted to watch .wmv s I have downloaded and had to shut down SageTV and the sage Service before I edited the Sage.properties and SageClient.Properties to add the .wmv extension.

Fiddling with my codecs (re-installing) got my AVIs working. I still can't get any audio out of my DVDs though. They play just fine out of Sonic Cineplayer though. . .

did the codecs include the AC3 codec? It is used for most dvd sound decoding. http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/

I don't recall, and am not where I can look now, but aren't the audio codecs set up separately for DVD playback. If so, try the setting it to whatever you use for HDTV.

So I solved the problem. . . It seemed easiest to uninstall ans re-install everything and for whatever reason everything works fine now.

Thanks for the help.
