SageTv4 and Directv D10

Howdy,
Just finished building my HTPC last week and am trying out Sage as the front end. So far I really love it, just one problem. My directv set top box (D10) doesn't respond to any codes from the Hauppauge IR blaster, seems to be a common complaint with this STB. So, realizing this, what's the general concensus as to an alternative means of changing channels on this bugger. Should I go direct serial control? If I go with the USB-UIRT can I program that with my directv remote and then use my Hauppauge remote to run Sage using those codes it's learned? And how in the hell do I do that? Also the streamzap looks like a better all around remote for running everything on Sage than the Hauppauge, does it play nice with the USB-UIRT and Sage?

I'd just chuck this STB except it seems it's about the only one that works with local channels and I'm so far out in the boonies that's the only way I can get them. I could care less about local channels but the old lady has to have them.

I'm still an HTPC noob so I'm looking for the easiest possible way to run this blasted STB through Sage. I'm willing to shell out a few more bucks to make this work but don't want to go overboard since I just recently blew most of my play money budget on building this HTPC.

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions. I did try searching before posting but didn't find any real definitive answers, so try not to rake me too hard.

I have a D10-100, (it seems to make a difference with -200 or -300) and I went from USB-UIRT control to serial control and it's much more reliable. But, to tune to channels below 100, I still had to use a DLL file that Sage support was kind enough to send me. I installed V4 tonight and had to overwrite "directvserialcontrol.dll" with the one I got last month. It's posted somewhere here, or you can request it from support - serial control works much better than the IR control. Hope that helps!
