Specifying which Input to use

Howdy,

I have a PVR-150 MCE card which has Coax, S-Video and RCA inputs. Most of the things I record are on the standard cable channels so I have a cable input going into the Coax jack and Sage tunes in the program and records it and everything is great.

However every so often I want to record somethinf from one of the DIgital cable channels which have to go through the cable box first. So I have the S-Video out from the cable box going into the S-Video port on the 150 card. Of course the normal channels are available on the cable as well.

So, if I'm recording something on a normal channel, how do I tell Sage to use the Coax Input and not the S-Video input?

Only thing I came up with was to delete all the normal channel numbers from the S-Video input settings in the channel setup wizard. Will that then tell Sage to use COax for 1-99 and S-Video for 99-200?

Just don't want it to try to use the S-Video port for a normal channel as it will just record whatever I'm watching on the cable box.

Does that make sense?

Thanks.

27 views and no responses? Does that mean it's not possible to specify which input to use? I thought I was just missing something....

It has been talked about in the past... essentially you have to configure each source on the same tuner to use different providers so they each have different channel lineups w/no overlapping channels. After that, SageTV automatically knows which input to record from.

Well I guess that's basically what I did. I chose Time Warner for my coax line and Time Warner Digital for the S-Video line.

Now all the normal channels are included in the Digital lineup so I then had to go into the Digital setup and disable all the normal channels. That way i figure if I pick a normal channel it will default to the Coax and if I pick a higher up channel it will default to the S-Video.

We'll see what happens.
