VMR9 vs VMR9 w/ FSE

For those that can use both, Is there much of a PQ differance between the two, is VMR9 w/ FSE that superior to just VMR9 ?

my ATI card locks up with VMR9 w/ FSE and my move to a G-force card

thanks

Both modes attempt to render the same exact pixels.

However, FSE can provide a more smoothly rendered video, because it gives sole access to the rendering engine to SageTV, thus the rendering engine need not be concerned with what any other process on the machine, wants to display.

The picture quality looks the same to me. I can't tell the difference. There shouldnt be any difference. On PCs with video related performance issues (ie, stuttering or judders when video pans, FSE can display the video more fluid.
