Best Dscaler filters for Sports

I have been recording a lot of college basketball lately and have a couple of questions.

For regular shows (movies, sitcoms, dramas, etc.), I have been using the Elecard codec pack with Two Frame and Double Refresh Rate. This seems to give me a great picture.

However, I have 3 questions:

1. Sports seem to get really fuzzy with a lot of action on the screen, what is the best recording rate (picture quality bitrate) for these kinds of programs?

2. What is the best dscaler filter to use for this? I have tried numerous ones and don't really see a difference.

3. Can you set specific filters or recording bitrates depending on the type of program automatically?

Thanks,

1 - Just try a higher bitrate, Best quality should give almost no noticable artifacts beyond what your digital cable or satellite system may introduce.

2 - I'm not that aware of the differences myself....but I know there's some.

3 - You can set specific qualities for a favorite or one-touch recording, but not for a type of program at this time.

Thanks,
