Angry Anyone Using a Sony SAT-A3 with Sage?

Snapstream could control it fine with a serial cable....(but SnapStream sucks, so I'm using Sage now.) I gave up trying to teach myself Girder just to control a sat box...figured Sage would get up to speed eventually. Bought an Actisys 200L from Frey when I bought the license for Sage. It was tested on another receiver and worked just fine (Hughes).

But I can't get the Actisys to change the channel on this Sony box. The serial cable won't work even after installing an I/0 card with two new serial ports (using Beta 1.4.7 or anything that has come before...)

ALL I get, using either device, is a quick stutter or flash of the playing Live TV feed, the UI shows the new channel number and description of the program in the upper right of the screen....and the channel being viewed doesn't change.

Is there still a need to import the DTVCon or Girder files? Still a need to actually have one of these apps running?

Or do I just need to take out my frustration on my SAT-A3 with a baseball bat and then go get another receiver?

Does your satellite receiver require you to hit "Ok" or 'Enter" to accept a channel change?

We're releasing 1.4.8 today that has the DirecTV serial control problem fixed. Try it with that and see how it goes.

Serial Problems in Sage Fixed

As far as I know....

Jeffrey made a debug dll for me several months back and I used it to help him capture the problem. I have since reattached my system to the DirecTV Sony receiver and it works great.
