Wiz.bin question

I regularly backup the wiz.bak and sage.properties.autobackup files just in case there is a problem. I went to look to make sure they are backing up and noticed the wiz.bak file is only 6kb while my wiz.bin file 6mb. Has this changed? I thought Sage backed up the wiz.bin to the wiz.bak.

Thanks

It does do that backup... perhaps you just happened to catch it while it was doing a backup? Wiz.bak should be around the same size as wiz.bin.

Nope. It is still like that. I actually noticed this last month, but didn't put much thought into it. I am attaching an image showing the files. Anyone else having this problem?

Rename your wiz.bak file, then force an EPG update by toggling a channel in Channel Setup, and see what happens. (I think that is when it gets backed up.) If wiz.bak isn't getting created properly, you should let SageTV know about it -- and try to keep a log frmo a time when it happens.

FWIW...

Ok. Here is what is happening. The old file structure of C:\program file\Frey Technologies etc.. is still there. The program is running from C:\program files\sagetv etc... Sage is updating the wiz.bin and wiz.bak in the old file structure, but everything else in the new file structure (logs and properties files).

I guess probably the best thing to do is to uninstall everything and get rid of the old structure (after a backup of course) then reinstall. Anyway, other people might want to check and make sure this isn't happening to them.

Did you copy your properties file to the new install directory? It sounds like that is the case, if it is still using the old file locations.

All you really need to do is close SageTV (service too) and edit any properties file to change any paths pointing to the old install dir to use the new install dir instead.
