Why do I want AC3Filter?
I've tried to figure it out from various websites...is AC3filter just an audio codec? Does it do anything that other codecs don't?
Also: How does somebody create a graph? And why would they? (Is there a tutorial for it somewhere?) Thanks! rwc |

I was wondering more or less the same thing myself. AC3filter doesn't seem to work right on my system (just get pops and clicks and the video stutters). I have another AC3-capable audio codec installed on my system that I'd like Sage to use, but it seems to prefer AC3filter. The end result is that I can't play MPEG4 movies with AC3 soundtracks through Sage .
Hopefully someone with more knowledge can fill us in on this? |

I have to use it to get sound from dvds and ripped dvds. It also has some uses for spdif, I think. If you don't need it don't use it.

ac3filter is not just for ac3 audio some of use use it as a normalizer for normal audio because of its automatic gain control. FFDshow is starting to be able to do the same thing but it still have issues with some files that ac3filter plays fine.
