Need help with my Hauppauge pvr-500MCE and recording!
Hey everyone... thanks in advance.
I recently bought a hauppauge pvr-500MCE for my windows XP system (I know it was optimized for use on MC editions of XP, but was told I could use the card). I've been trying to connect my VCR to the card to copy over some old VHS tapes onto my PC. I've had a hell of a time finding an application do this with! I've tried the SageTV recorder, but I guess the recorder doesn't support the pvr-500MCE. I'm really hoping that someone knows of a product that will allow me to record these VHS tapes onto my PC.... thanks! -Ray |

I use SageTV to record my old home videos. I setup the capture cards input and then hook up my vcr. I then make a timed recording of whatever length the VHS is and thats it. They always come out fine

I am trying to "add new source" in SageTv and I keep getting errors.
I select the hauppauge tuner #1, then select to "captuer composite" since my VCR is hooked with red/yellow/white audio/video cables to my hauppauge card. Then I select "con't configure tuning," and "do not use programming guide." When I try to view the vcr output, I just see a blank screen. I also get the "There was a problem accessing the filesystem for playback" save.Playback.Exception:Error(-3,0x80040154). Last edited by 01blacksnake; 10-10-2005 at 03:00 PM. |
